It’s been a long time, hasn’t it? Sometimes, life grabs you and shakes you up, and all you can do is hold on.
The last year has seen a lot of change and upheaval in my world, and I let myself get distracted from work. A move, a divorce, and settling into my parent’s home. But it’s ok. The change was necessary, and I’m coming out on the other side. I’m getting healthy, both physically and mentally, and I’m full of creativity and the words are finally breaking free. I am surrounded by an amazing family and a fantastic tribe. There’s no way I would have made it through this year without them. Life isn’t easy, but it’s better. I’m better.
My word for 2019 is Thrive. I am pushing myself, but I’m not going to beat myself up when I fail. I’ll be looking for new freelance work, because it is long past time that I try to make a real career out of this. On top of the freelance work, I plan on publishing a hand full of LARPs and more books for the Storyteller Vault.
“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” – Maya Angelou
So there we are! I have a lot of work in my future, conventions to attend, and words to write. I’ll be off to MidWinter in just a few days, and I can’t wait to reconnect with old friends and hopefully make some new ones. There’s a lot of amazing programming, so I’m sure I’ll have a lot to talk about when I get home. Stick around, because there’s a lot of cool stuff to come!
